Fat: Doesn't Always Fatten (?)

Some women just never grow fat, even after giving birth and nursing children. They simply don't, albeit they're not supermodels or celebrities. On the other hand, other females who always avoid taking dinner every night seem to never be able to gain ideal weight.
How come?

David Zinczenko, author of "Eat This, Not That!," and his colleague, Matt Goulding, stated that slim women unconsciously apply some rules that keep them from gaining weight. When you hold onto these two simple rules they follow, you might end up with the similar results as they do.

(1) Never go on a diet

Several studies propose that the major cause of future weight-gain is the present habit of going on diet. By limiting calorie intake, we are basically reducing our physical strength, and also bones and muscles mass and density -- whereas muscles are the ultimate calorie burner. By going on a diet, we are actually ensuring future weight-gain.
The latest study published in the Psychosomatic Medicine Journal also shows that tracking your consumption pattern by using a journal can also increase your level of stress. As a result, the level of cortisol in your body shoots up. Cortisol is the hormone that has often been associated with weight-gain.
So as to keep your body slim, try taking 25 grams of fiber, daily. It equals three portions of fruit and vegetables. Sufficient fiber intake will increase fat burning up to 30%.

(2) Never opt for non-fat food and beverages

A study that involves nearly 90,000 people in Europe for several years discovers that the participants who consume low-fat food have greater risk to grow overweight. It means that there's no difference between them and those who eat whatever food they want to consume.

The key of this consumption pattern, Zinczenko says, is that fat does not fatten you. On the contrary, you need fat in your daily consumption pattern to help your body process some nutrients, such as vitamins A, D, and E. Food and beverages that are labeled "non-fat" or "low-fat" often contain more sugar and, therefore, store greater amount of calorie.

The American Heart Association also states that "non-fat" labeled foods basically only cause greater intake of unhealthy sweetening agents. Fat tends to keep you feel full much longer, whereas non-fat foods drive you to feel hungry much faster. Eventually, you will look for more food to satisfy your hunger.

The Downside of Juice

Are you in post-surgery recuperation period or undergoing medication?
If you are, it is good to take caution in adjusting your diet during recovery, especially when you're the kind who always include fruit juice in your meals.

Recent studies in Canada show that several fruits tend to lower (if not deplete) the effectiveness of medication by blocking the body's capacity to absorb certain chemical substances. Grapefruit, orange, and apple are some among them.

David Bailey, professor of clinical pharmacology from University of Ontario, was first to discover the relation between the consumption of fruit juice with absorption of oral medicine. His experiments showed that grapefruit and several other fruits were responsible for the decrease in certain oral medications absorption, and/or depleting their healing potential.

The experiment was done by giving three groups of healthy people antihistamin to tackle allergic reaction, taken with either fresh water, water mixed with naringin, or grapefruit juice.
The result?

Those who took the medicine with grapefruit juice lost half the effectiveness of the antihistamin dose compared to the ones who took it with fresh water.
Moreover, those who took it with naringin showed a decrease of absorption, since naringin prevented the medicine's chemical substance from being released from intestinal track into blood.

For those who suffer from chronic illnesses and are undergoing medication therapy, drinking grapefruit juice is therefore not recommended.

Fresh Fruits: A Must for Healthy Living

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Eating fruits everyday keeps diseases at bay.

Any nutritionist would suggest the above advice to maintain health and vitality. Fruit is an essential part of a healthy diet. It contains the vitamins, minerals, and fibers we need to keep our digestion and physical metabolism in prime condition.
Fruit for human body is like lubricant to engine. The lack of its consumption in our diet causes indigestion and metabolic breakdown, the same way an engine undergoes rust and malfunction when the supply of lubricants doesn't balance the amount of work done.

Anyone would agree that fruit is vital for human health.
Even ancient tribes had been using fruit to prevent illnesses.
In this case, fruit is held as a natural preventive medication.

But, wait a second: which sort of fruit?

Nowadays, with the rush of the hustling civilization, people tend to find and choose a quicker, easier way to everything -- which, unfortunately, doesn't always come up with the best results.
Fruits are being harvested before they completely ripen, and are stored in jars or containers to ripen later. Many are sprayed with insecticides and preservatives to keep them "fresh" even after long export/import shipping periods.
Rarely do we find fruits that are ripe from the tree these days.

Yet, this is the best and most beneficial kind of fruit for our health.
Why?

Because, fruit absorbs the energy of the sun in order to ripen. It is the only food on the planet that receives the power of the sun first-hand. The more it changes color, the greater sun-power it absorbs and contains.
This solar energy is released into our body and physical metabolism once we eat it. Thus, by consuming tree-ripe fruits, we actually transfer the energy of the sun into our body. That is the reason why fruit is a key element to maintaining perfect health.

Want to stay healthy?
Do yourself a favor.
Stop buying preserved, insecticide-sprayed fruits to store in your refrigerators.
Pick fruits fresh from the trees and eat as soon as you pluck it from the branches -- and feel the difference it brings to your health.

Goji Berries & Their Amazing Health Facts

Goji berries have become a new rising star in the world of natural health science. This tiny red berries from the Himalayan Mountains, also known as the Lycium Barbarum, has been proven as the world's most nutritionally dense food.

Recent studies have shown that goji berries contain:

- 19 amino acids (the building blocks of protein), including all eight that are essential for life.

- 21 trace minerals, including germanium, an anti-cancer trace mineral rarely found in foods.

- more protein than whole-wheat (13%).

- a complete spectrum of antioxidant carotenoids, including beta-carotene (a better source than even carrots!) and zeaxanthin (protects the eyes). Goji berries are the richest source of carotenoids of all known foods.

- vitamin C at higher levels than even those found in oranges.

- B-complex vitamins, necessary for converting food into energy.

- vitamin E (very rarely found in fruits, only in grains and seeds).

- Beta-sitosterol, an anti-inflammatory agent. Beta-sitosterol also lowers cholesterol and has been used to treat impotence and prostate enlargement.

- Essential fatty acids, which are required for the body's production of hormones and for the smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system.

- Cyperone, a sesquiterpene that benefits the heart and blood pressure, alleviate menstrual discomfort, and has been used in the treatment of cervical cancer.

- Solavetivone, a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound.

- Physalin, a natural compound that is active against all major types of leukemia. It has been shown to increase splenic natural killer cell activity in normal and tumor-bearing mice, with broad-spectrum anti-cancer effect. It has also been used as a treatment for hepatitis B.

- Betaine, which is used by the liver to produce choline, a compound that calms nervousness, enhance memory, promote muscle growth, and protects against fatty liver disease. Betain also provides methyl groups in the body's energy reactions and can help reduce levels of homocysteine, a prime risk factor in heart disease. It also protects DNA.

In his book, Goji: The Himalayan Health Secret, Rick Handel listed 34 health benefits of goji berries which had been discovered through latest scientific researches:

1. Extend your life, protecting your body from premature aging through its powerful antioxidant action.

2. Increase your energy and strength, especially when fighting disease.

3. Make you look and feel younger. Goji stimulates the secretion of HGH (Human Growth Hormone), the "youth hormone."

4. Lower your blood pressure.

5. Prevent cancer.

6. Maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

7. Balance blood-sugar and manage diabetes.

8. Enhance libido and sexual function.

9. Lose weight.

10. Relieve headaches and dizziness.

11. Get better sleep.

12. Improve your vision.

13. Strengthen your heart.

14. Inhibit lipid peroxidation. Accumulation of sticy lipid peroxides in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease, heart attack, atherosclerosis, and stroke. Goji increases levels of an important blood enzyme that inhibits their formation.

15. Resist disease.

16. Improve immune response by balancing the activity of all classes of immune cells, including T-cells, cytotoxic T-cells, NK celss, lysozyme, tumore necrosis factor-alpha, and the immunoglobulins IgG and IgA.

17. Manage and fight cancer, including regressions of malignant melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and malignant hydrothorax.

18. Protect your precious DNA, the most important chemical in your body, ensuring that -- as they need replacement -- your 10 trillion cells are faithfully reproduced as healthy, exact duplicates, and restoring and repairing damaged DNA.

19. Inhibit tumor growth.

20. Reduce the toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

21. Build strong blood, enhancing production of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

22. Help chronic dry cough.

23. Fight inflammation and arthritis by restoring the balance of the importan anti-inflammatory SOD enzyme.

24. Improve your lymphocyte count. A lymphocyte is any of a group of white blood cells important to the adaptive part of the body's immune system. Goji increases lymphocyte count.

25. Treat menopausal symptoms.

26. Prevent morning sickness in the first trimester of pregnancy.

27. Improve fertility.

28. Strengthen your muscles and bones.

29. Support kidney health.

30. Improve your memory.

31. Support healthy liver function.

32. Alleviate anxiety and stress.

33. Promote cheerfulness and brighten your spirit, explaining why goji is called the "happy berry." In fact, it has been noted that the only known side-effect of goji is that continued consumption may make it impossible for you to stop smiling!

34. Improve digestion.

With all those remarkable benefits listed above, it's no wonder that the Hunza people of Himalaya who eat the goji berries regularly live to the average age of 100 - 120 years old! Records prove that these people live a long, full, joyful life in perfect health due to their natural diet and regular consumption of fruits, including the multi-benefits goji berries.

Coffee, Anyone?

"Would you like a cup of coffee?"
We often offer this blackish tasty drink whenever some guests happen to drop by for a visit -- little knowing what a cup of coffee could benefit our health.

Recent studies and researches have proven that coffee has the positive effects in:

(1) Reducing the risk of Parkinson disease, due to the amount of caffeine that helps to protect our brain cells.
(2) Fighting diseases with its antibacterial agents.
(3) Decreasing the risk of gallstone crystallization.
(4) Enhancing mental stability.
(5) Preventing diabetes type-2 by enhancing insulin-flow to certain parts of the body.
(6) Reducing the risk of all types of cancer, Alzheimer, and coronary heart attack, thanks to its antioxidant contents (including chlorogenic acid and caffeine acid) and polyphenol.
(7) Increasing physical endurance.
(8) Healing headaches.
(9) Soothing respiration in asthma patients due to theophyline, a bronchodilator substance.
(10) Increasing fertility in males by accelerating sperm-cells speed.

Still think that coffee is bad for your health, or simply a drink to treat your guests?
Think again!

Euthanasia: An Act of Mercy, Murder, or Defiance against the Will of God?

A few days ago, on January 12, I wrote down a dilemmatic topic on my Facebook status, “Euthanasia: an act of mercy, murder, or defiance against the will of God?”
The idea came up in my mind after reading my ex-schoolmate’s statuses. Her father’s suffering from lung cancer and has to go through biopsy. The doctors have predicted he’s got less than 1.5 years to live. My friend, struck and shocked by the verdict, poured out her emotions by writing statuses about her father’s latest updates. So we all knew what was happening every single day in their home.
I know how burdensome and painful the ordeal she and her family have to face these days. I, too, have been through the same trial, over and over again: watching the people I loved struggling at the brink of death until the day of their departure. So far I’ve lost my parents, my mother-in-law (my father-in-law had departed over a decade before she did), my uncles and my brother – not to mention witnessing so many others (relatives and friends) dying on hospital beds.
Many of my beloved ones died of terminal diseases. It was a great grievance and burden to see them suffer, to watch the disease prevailing in their gradually weakened bodies. It was pure torture! Sometimes I felt so stricken at watching them writhed in insurmountable pain while deep inside I didn’t want to let them go to gain eternal peace. On one hand, I felt so selfish for keeping them alive, on the other, I realized that taking one’s life a second too soon was murder.
Euthanasia is a means of ending a patient’s suffering when there is no longer hope for survival. Depends on the circumstances, this step is medically ethical and permissible. However, is it ethical and permissible when it comes to conscience’s sake?
A minute after I floored the question, my friend angrily commented, “It’s defiance against the will of God! Murder!”
Another ex-schoolmate commented the same.
Two of my ex-campus mates said they couldn’t give a sure answer before personally undergoing the similar circumstances (I do hope and pray they’ll never undergo such circumstances!). So did one of my teachers.
My ex-high-school classmate and my former teacher at elementary school agreed that the issue was highly dilemmatic. They’ve both got parents who pleaded with them to let the doctors shoot them dead rather than undergoing seemingly-never-ending pain and torture. But the two of them hadn’t had the heart to allow it.
Finally, I asked an old friend of mine (he’s a pastor) to comment on the topic. He, too, agreed that the question was very hard to answer. But at least, he said, euthanasia could be classified into active and passive. Active euthanasia, which means injecting an overdose of morphine to “put the patient to sleep,” is not acceptable to any faith – and best be rejected. On the other hand, passive euthanasia, meaning: refusing the use of medical instruments such as oxygen pumps and its sort, and letting the patient die a normal death, is more tolerable when it comes to conscience’s sake.
I thanked him for the answer, which brought enlightenment to all who had commented on my status. I guess that’s one of the good uses of Facebook: to bring up important discussions concerning daily questions in life and to try to find a solution for the better days ahead.
Have a great day, All!

Stay Healthy -- Stay Out of Faulty Diet!

When asked what my favorite food was, I used to chart “fried chicken and root-beer float at the nearest CFC restaurant” on top of the list – but that was nearly two decades ago. Today, my favorite menu is “bean-cakes with papaya blossoms and dabu-dabu, accompanied by a glass of hot lemon tea.” That’ll make a perfect meal!
Do you notice the difference between the two preferences?
There’s a big alteration on lifestyle and health between them!
Many people undergo changes in their lifestyle. When it comes to food-consumption pattern, a great deal of health issue is concerned. Some experts observe that a number of life-threatening diseases tend to climb up the list quite drastically in the past decade: coronary heart-attack, cancer of the colon and CVA (cerebral-vascular attack, a.k.a. stroke) are some that people fear the most. These days, they may attack ANYONE, nearly regardless of age. One of my ex-schoolmates died of cancer before graduating from college and my husband’s friend died of CVA at the age of 38 – to mention some among thousands of victims.
How is it so? Well, the society’s lifestyle has altered much within the past quarter of century. We are now living in an “instant” age: instant news and information, instant remedy, instant food and beverages. True, time-saving is necessary, but it is NOT necessarily so when it comes to eating and drinking habit.
Why? It is because human digestion system is not meant for instant processing! And most people are either uninformed or indifferent of it. Most of the prevailing diseases threatening mankind these days come as the result of faulty diet.
For instance:
• Most fast food restaurants serve high fat and high carbohydrates dishes. Fat, as we are aware of, is unhealthy for the body since plenty of animal toxic residue is stored in fat layers. And animal protein consumed with carbohydrates is bad for digestion, because each element takes different amount of speed to digest thoroughly (see FOOD COMBINING by Andang Gunawan). When not processed thoroughly, it produces toxic residue that ends up adhered on the walls of the colon, hence resulting in cancer of the colon in the long run.
• Too much fat in the diet increases the rate of cholesterol in blood capillaries which may block blood-flow from or to the heart (resulting in coronary heart-attack) and/or brain (resulting in CVA).
• Most instant snacks are spiced and colored with artificial flavors, artificial colorings and monosodium glutamate (MSG). What these flavorings really are is salt and toxin in relatively small amount. When taken daily (or several times a day), they will pile up in our circulatory system, resulting in headaches, gastrointestinal irritation, and diminution of IQ in children.
The issue of health is very much concerned with people’s food-consumption pattern. The healthiest pattern in to have lots of vegetables and plant protein (soy, bean-cakes, bean-curd, etc.) in our diet, fruit taken daily, a dish of animal protein once or twice a week (provided they’re not accompanied by carbohydrates) and to avoid instant food and beverages.
Why don’t you try applying this pattern for a couple of months or so? You’ll see for yourselves how much healthier your body and mind will turn out.
Good luck!

Music and Wholesomeness

What can be more soul-nourishing than listening to Debussy’s CLAIRE DE LUNE with a cup of hot coffee-milk in front of you, an apple in one hand and a pen in the other, ready to pour ideas into a sheet of paper? At least, that’s what I’m doing at present.
Music is said to have influence on people’s soul and mind, and they in turn affect the wholesomeness of one’s physical aspects. Each kind of music brings about different effects, however. Studies in botany show that seeds exposed to soft, instrumental music tend to sprout and grow faster than those that are not. But seeds exposed to country music seem to show similar growth rate to those that are not given any portion of music of whatsoever. And, guess what happens when they’re exposed to rock-and-roll? They don’t grow much at all!
If that’s the case with plants, how much greater the influence music has on human beings! It doesn’t merely affect people’s mood, but health, character and social behavior as well.
In some hospitals’ maternity wards, they play soft, classical music in aiding women in labor. The effects such music brings upon laboring mothers include the diminution of pain and a more relaxed, favorable atmosphere that prove to be much help in the delivery process.
Classical, romantic and impressionist music might help accelerate post-surgery recuperation process and benefit patients with chronic illnesses. On the other hand, hip-hop, contemporary rock and rap are best to be avoided!
Like said above, every kind of music brings about different outcome. While some heal, others may degenerate health. Some music drive people to be clear-headed, but some spread the root of rebellion. It can be said that what you hear determines who you are and what you’ll become.
I, for instance, play Beethoven’s MOONLIGHT SONATA and love Ravel’s PAVANE POUR UNE INFANTE DEFUNTE. What does that make me, then?

Choosing A Method of Contraception

Our daughter, Sarah, was born 16 months after the birth of her brother. My husband and I call her conception “the will of God.” My midwife, however, calls it “carelessness for not using contraception method!”
Methods of contraception can be classified into “hormonal” and “non-hormonal.”
The hormonal methods include the use of pills and injection (monthly and/or tri-monthly). They are 99% effective, but not without side-effects. The usual side-effects cover rapid weight-gain and irregular menstrual period. They are not recommendable to tumor/cancer patients, and if you carelessly forget to take your pills or injection, it is likely you’ll conceive before the next menstrual period.
The non-hormonal methods include the use of condom, diaphragm, Dutch cap, Intrauterine Device (IUD), and sterilization (prohibited in Indonesia for couples with number of children less than three). The condom, diaphragm and Dutch cap shield the uterus from the flow of sperm, thus preventing conception. They can be disposed after intercourse. IUD is inserted into the uterus with the help of special device and left there to barricade the Fallopian tubes from the injection of sperm, thereby preventing conception for several years until the expiry date; then, with the help of a midwife or gynecologist, the former IUD is removed and replaced with a new one. In sterilization, a simple surgery is performed in order to cut or tie up the Fallopian tubes (in female) or vas deferens (in male), hence preventing conception for life. It is not permitted for couples with less than three children to undergo this operation in Indonesia, so far as I am informed.
I, on the other hand, failed to apply any of the methods explained above!
“I’ve told you so,” scowled my midwife, as I wailed and howled on the delivery stool, struggling to push the baby into open air. “I’ve told you to use contraception and you didn’t listen!”
“Now, relax. That’s it. Rest your butts on the bed,” she ordered – and pulled – and a couple seconds later Sarah’s cry filled the room. “It’s a girl! You’ve got a beautiful daughter this time! Alright, now I’m going to stitch you up, and you make sure you come back here in 40 days for contraception!”
This time, I didn’t dare to disobey her. Forty days later, I returned to her clinic, where she had an IUD prepared for me. It took five minutes of pain. Afterward, I no longer need to worry about anything for the next eight years.

Help for Children with Cleft Lips and Palate

Octavian and I visited a friend in a nearby village yesterday. He lives with his elderly mother, a sister, and a three-year-old niece – who happens to be born with cleft lips. The family is poor, and they were faced with the urge to perform surgery on the child. So all their relatives helped by donating as much money as they could in order to get the girl through surgery.
Does the above story sound familiar to you?
Do you happen to have a close relative, a neighbor or a friend whose child is suffering from similar birth defect yet hasn’t got the money to get the child through surgery?
If you do, I’ve got favorable news for you.
Tulip Indonesia Foundation, a Netherland-funded organization, helps Indonesian children who are born with cleft lips and palate by providing fund for their operation. It is strongly recommended that children born with such birth defect to be medically handled as early as possible. Now that there is a foundation which provides the funding of the medication, you really needn’t think twice.
Simply dial +6281.330.010.011 or fax to +6231.848.0308 or send an e-mail to info@tulipindonesia.org for immediate information.
You may pass this information on to anyone you know to be looking for help. I wish you good luck!

Talking About Toxoplasmosis

My son, Dharma, was born with a little abnormality. I personally don’t consider it a “defect,” since the word tends to impress the lack of something. Dharma has no lack of anything. He simply has an extra right thumb. It is termed “polydactyl” in medical science.
What causes it, you ask?
Well, in my opinion, it might be because I took care of too many pets when I was having him.
I had two long-haired dogs, two jackal-pups, and two queen-cats together with their five kittens when Dharma was inside of me. I personally bathed them, fed them, cleaned up the mess they made, and even handled their stools.
“Honey,” Octavian sighed. “You’re going to catch toxoplasmosis if you keep on doing that. You do realize it, I suppose?”
“In theory, I do,” I sighed back. “But I pray the Lord every morning when I wake up to protect me and the baby from that fetus-killing disease.”
Fetus-killing disease?
Oh, yes! For those of you who have never heard of toxoplasmosis before, here’s a hint:
“Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection. The infection agent is the form of toxoplasma parasite know as the oocyst which is transmitted in the feces of cats who become contaminated by eating mice, birds, and other previously infected creatures. Of the several thousand cases of congenital toxoplasmosis that occur in the United States each year, about 25% of the infants are born with irreversible defects: brain damage, blindness, and enlarged liver and spleen. In some cases, the babies are stillborn.” (Fishbein’s Illustrated Medical and Health Encyclopedia: Home Library Edition, 1983)
Our family doctor once explained three years ago, “Toxoplasmosis is deadly to fetus. If you acquire it within the first trimester, it is likely the baby won’t survive. And if you’re contaminated by the disease after the first trimester, the baby will probably survive, though not without high risks of birth defect, such as heart dysfunction, mental retardation, or lack of limbs. Nearly all women who suffer from toxoplasmosis are not able to bear children. And even if they do conceive, they are bound to miscarry.”
I am EXTREMELY and ASTOUNDINGLY LUCKY to give birth to a boy with two right thumbs and no internal or external birth defect of whatsoever! It seems that God really heard my prayer for a physically and mentally healthy child – praise the Lord!
Nevertheless, I should advise you, would-be-mothers: don’t be a daredevil like I was!
If you’re pregnant or planning to get pregnant, PLEASE: avoid contact with animals (especially cats), maintain a good home and personal hygiene, refrain from eating raw or rare meats (satay or kebab, for example), and don’t eat or drink in places you’re not sure of its cleanliness. These are the precautions every expectant mothers MUST follow in order to protect herself and her baby from the threat of toxoplasmosis.

Music and Pregnancy

Several years ago, as some of us might have heard, there was a discovery in popular science called the “Mozart Effect.” Some experts claimed that listening to classical music (Mozart’s works, in particular) beginning as early as the second trimester of pregnancy might enhance the development of cerebral cells of the fetus, thus producing children with IQ superior to the average. After the publication of the discovery, listening to classical music started to become a booming trend among expectant and nursing mothers. Who wouldn’t want to have children with superior IQ?
However, not so long ago, another theory emerged that refuted and exposed the faulty of Mozart Effect. Now, which theory is true, one may wonder?
No one can be sure.
But in my opinion, music talks to and has more influence on our mood, feelings and character instead of physical aspects. Every kind of music has its own sould, which communicates primarily with our soul instead of brain.
Whenever I listen to Bach or Mozart, I feel calm, peaceful and mentally nourished. Jazz tends to expand my creative thoughts, while Flamenco and Salsa energize me so much that my body wants to dance, dance, dance! It’s amazingly true throughout both pregnancies I’ve undergone.
When I was having Dharma, Octavian kept on playing a mixture of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Debussy on the WinAmp for hours and hours on end. I had no problems during prenatal period because the baby was so calm inside me. Even after he was born and has grown into a toddler, we never find any difficulty caring for him, since he’s so calm, thoughtful and orderly-minded.
It isn’t so with my second pregnancy. When I was having Sarah, my husband was so into Jazz that most of the day I listened to Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Martin Taylor and Chick Corea – not to mention Weather Report and Java Jazz. The baby has learned to kick my ribs real hard even before reaching the third trimester. She has now grown into a vigorous, agile baby with a strong free-will and very good sense of humor.
Those months of listening to different kinds of music during two pregnancies really speak a lot!
So, does Mozart Effect really work?
I can’t assure you that. All I can say is that if you are expecting or nursing a baby, it’s best to listen to as much good music as you can. There’s nothing you can lose by doing that!
